We are looking for an internal marketing and communications specialist to join Klarna’s EDC team.

The EDC team exists to make Klarna’s 1500+ engineers feel inspired at work and to make the engineering culture flourish. The team’s community managers are working closely with our 5 tech hubs by creating activities, events, and social conditions to make the Klarna the ideal place to work as an engineer. The team reports directly to the CTO and works closely with the company’s engineers; it functions as an enabler for various culture-related initiatives and ensures the information flow within the engineering organization. 

Obviously, communication is of great essence to succeed. Therefore, the team is looking for a talented, marketing and communications specialist with the ability to bring the communication together; to plan, coordinate, and execute top-notch communication boosting the engagement even further. As the team’s “marketing”-related expert, the person must be flexible and solution-oriented.

Despite having an internal focus, the comms specialist should also collaborate with other relevant stakeholders of the organization including the employer branding team. Occasionally supports external activities and events. 

Responsibilities:

  • Engage the engineering community by creating clear, concise, and creative communication.
  • Proactively identify, initiate and lead communication projects together with the team and relevant stakeholders.
  • Reactively provide support to various communication needs of the EDC team and the engineering competence as a whole. 
  • Plan and design basic visual communication, including presentations, documentation, websites, print material/merch, and simple video editing. 
  • Write clear and concise messages for various audiences and channels, including web copy, newsletters, event comms, and presentations.
  • Safeguard the Klarna brand by constantly adhering to existing guidelines across our touchpoints. 
  • Be the go-to person within the engineering competence for internal communication-related questions and include other relevant stakeholders when needed. 
  • Work independently - yet collaboratively - as the only marketeer within a team consisting of other competences. 
  • Assure quality and coherency in all of Klarna engineering’s communication efforts - making the communication aligned and following a red thread.
  • Request and order assets from internal and external stakeholders/agencies. This includes creating communications briefs with problem definitions, clear objectives and targets.
  • Handle relevant programs such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, WordPress, Google suites, Slack, and occasionally social media.

Requirements:

  • 2-3+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to remain flexible in a fast-paced environment with exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Experience in working with Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, WordPress, Google suites, Slack, and occasionally social media.
  • Familiarity with the global media market (focus on English speaking countries though role requires global media monitoring)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and fluid environment with ability to adapt.
  • Proactive and hands-on by nature, able to come up with new thinking that adds value and innovation to the work we do.
  • You are an independent player who can be strategic and forward-looking while at the same time taking personal ownership for everyday delivery.
  • Well-organised and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
