What you will do

As a Risk Reporting Manager you will have two key roles - support the growth of our UK business with risk oversight, primarily operational risk and drive and own Klarna-wide executive and Board risk reporting. This is a high profile role requiring an attention to detail and drive for success. You will be a part of the second line Risk Control function led by Klarna’s CRO and your competence line will belong to the Analytic competence. Since Klarna is a data driven company, decisions are based on facts and not opinions, which suits this role very well. The analytics competencies are integrated in the organisation and a key function in many different areas - some examples of the other are; finance, fraud, HR, product development and sales. Even if Analytics is applied in many different areas there are some things that all analysts have in common: a strong drive combined with analytical skills and a great team spirit! As your career develops you will develop expertise in certain areas.

However, there are a number of core skills shared by all analysts at Klarna. Klarnauts in the Analytics Competence have the ability to apply the following approach:


  • Create structure in disordered information/data
  • Manipulate and explore data Analyse problems to understand their root cause
  • Design and implement strategies in a rapidly evolving industry
  • Generate insights and recommendations
  • Communicate insights and recommendations
  • Design and improve processes
  • Ability to find data and information in collaboration with other people and teams
  • Identify improvement areas in several functional areas
  • Apply both a helicopter perspective as well as have the ability to go into details

The opportunity: Risk and Reporting Manager

  • Own Klarna’s risk reporting. This is more than coordination it is making them insightful, action orientated and required reading for our audiences. Using data to provide insight
  • Support and oversee the UK business as it grows. Be the face and go-to person for UK risk management, build relationships and solve problems

You should have

  • Understanding of risk management practices in a financial institution, focussing on operational risk
  • Strong data management skills including
  • QlikSense and some understanding and ability in querying data and
  • SQL
  • Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English
  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and influence decision making
  • Strong attention to detail and experience in using structured approaches to problem solving
  • Detailed focussed and with significant drive and ambition

  • Preferably an understanding of how to perform data extraction and manipulation, as well as programming languages is a plus (SQL, R, Python, MatLab, Java, C#, etc…)

  • Operate well under pressure and with high amounts of ambiguity
  • Experience with presenting/reporting complex data in a simple way
