Senior Product Owner

At Yilu - the first start-up founded by the Lufthansa Group - we want to change the way people travel. Our goal is to revolutionise the entire travel journey, from the point of departure to the final destination, to provide customers with a connected, convenient and enjoyable experience while creating new growth opportunities for travel companies. Providing support throughout the increasing complexity in travel fuels our strive for a more connected travel journey and is even more important nowadays.. To achieve this, we are developing a smart end-to-end travel platform that connects selected service providers like for example mobility services, lounges, insurances or pandemic related ones along the travel chain to integrate them into our partners customer touchpoints.

Based in our Berlin office, you as a Product Owner will be a member of a cross-functional product team. We are looking for a person with a passion to build products in the intersection of our B2B and B2C customers with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

What you’ll be working on

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to craft vision and concept development of a product and manifest it within product artefacts like a Product Requirement Document.
  • Work closely with product management/business teams to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI.
  • Elicits requirements from stakeholders and documents requirements in the form of User Stories, to clearly articulate the customer need or problem.
  • Continually prioritizing the product backlog to always ensure the user stories of highest value are foremost
  • Facilitate and contribute to the Agile Factory, managing decision making across the stakeholder community and using this in Product Backlog grooming and refinement.
  • Review and accept user stories into the baseline as they are completed during the sprint, ensuring they deliver the business value intended. Doing this as early as possible in the sprint allows the team time to fix issues and achieve their sprint goals.
  • Ensure product/feature launch readiness - write release notes and convey changes to stakeholders (Projects, Knowledge and Support) to support a smooth transition to live and operations.

What you’ll bring along

  • 4+ years experience in product management in an agile environment
  • Experience in driving an agile product development process, facilitate product management ceremonies and work in cross-functional teams
  • A demonstrated and focused desire to build B2B products and B2C services that customers will love
  • Understanding of platforms, APIs, 3rd party integrations, mobile technologies, microservices architecture is a plus
  • Strong experience through all stages of the product lifecycle - from scratch to scaling existing businesses

  • Nice to have experience, that we'd like to hear about:
  • Experience in the travel industry is a plus
  • Understanding APIs as a product is a plus
