We are looking for an experienced and passionate influencer and content marketer to join our rapidly expanding North America B2C marketing team -- a high-performing, consumer-obsessed group responsible for making Klarna a world-famous brand that is known, respected, and loved by consumers and retailers. The B2C team drives all brand campaigns, activations, partnerships, is always on plans, and works closely with other global and regional marketing teams and product and co-marketing teams. The person who will be successful in this role should have a love for influencers and content on a personal level and a clear grasp of pop-culture and trends. Additionally, like any successful marketer at Klarna, this role is expected to have strong experience crafting strategies while also ideating and being hands-on with execution. You also enjoy a fast-paced working environment and are consumer obsessed by nature. You love problem-solving, want the ability to think creatively, and strive to challenge the status quo while executing with the highest quality.

Who you are

  • This role will be responsible for leading development and execution of multi-faceted influencer strategies and content focused on increasing awareness, consideration and brand love for Klarna in North America. This is an end-to-end role for all influencer programs in North America — from strategy and talent selection to creative review and post-campaign analysis — with micro, mid-tier, macro, and celebrity talent. Along the way, you will collaborate with our agency partners as well as regional and global teams. Success in this position will be to deliver best-in-class influencer and content marketing.


  • The overarching role is to craft influencer and ambassador strategies for North America, own and drive the execution. You will move between internal and external stakeholders and support the creation and rollout of global and local brand campaigns, activations, partnerships and always-on programs. 
  • You’re the go-to person in North America for all projects and activations that require influencer and content amplification. Oversee the day-to-day management of our agency.
  • Develop and execute local influencer campaigns that convey the Klarna message in the most effective way in North America with a clear focus on business objectives and KPIs.
  • Prospect, execute, and manage influencer partnerships. Create and maintain strong relationships with influencer talent and partners. 
  • Be on top of pop-cultural and social topics as well as seasonal occasions in North America, providing insights and inspiration to regional and global teams alike. 
  • Start small and learn fast: In accordance with our leadership principles, you proactively spot current trends and business opportunities in which influencer and content activations can make a strong business impact for Klarna, pitching them to internal and external stakeholders and constantly iterating on learnings.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on past executions, current state of influencer marketing, upcoming trends etc. – owning updates with internal teams.
  • Analyze influencer and content opportunities and recommend strategies and approaches.
  • Establish and evolve best practices across influencer campaigns.
  • You’ll be dedicated to North America but will also partner and collaborate closely with the Global team to develop and execute Global influencer campaigns/ambassador programs.

  • 6+ years experience at a startup or agency with a focus in Influencer. Experience in tech, lifestyle and/or sports is a plus.
  • Proven track record of creating and executing impactful and innovative influencer and social-first content strategies that get people talking and meet business objectives.
  • You have a real passion for building communities and how to authentically place a brand. You know your way around all social platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, Tiktok, Youtube, Pinterest and you love creating content that disrupts and engages.
  • Strong collaborator with experience working cross-functionally and with stakeholders.
  • A passion for social media and Internet culture, and a deep understanding of the influencer landscape.
  • Positive, go-getter attitude; passion for storytelling and helping build a growing brand.
  • Ability to work autonomously and complete multiple projects within time constraints and with strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive by nature and comes up with new thinking that adds value.
  • Enjoy a high pace environment and can quickly adapt to change. 
  • Have the ability to prioritize your work effectively, while taking personal ownership of hands-on delivery.
  • Savvy in using social media monitoring tools and enjoy diving deep into data, using it confidently to drive decision-making. 
  • Experience working in North America and have the ability to gain regional insights that help the region but also the global team to create strategies and concepts that appeal to the local audience.
  • You know how to include influencer strategies in social-first campaigns and activations and how to execute them.
  • Strong communicator and stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally.
  • Paid social experience is a plus.
  • Comfortable in Excel and Google Sheets.
