Our exciting journey began in the heart of Berlin in 2017 and we are now available in 5 European markets. heycar is now expanding to new markets making our platform available across Europe. To achieve this fast-paced growth, we explicitly focus on vehicles, dealers, service quality and building a digital product that provides an end-to-end automobile buying experience.
We are looking for an Engineering Manager who is eager to build and maintain a reliable and flexible platform, serving multiple countries and markets. You bring in a team first attitude and understand what ownership of multiple digital products and DevOps culture means. You build it, you run it.
Who we are looking for.

You already have experience as an Engineering Manager or a similar role, or you are a very experienced Software Engineer confident in taking the step up being a people manager too.

You have a strong engineering experience in developing, releasing, and scaling distributed software products using Kotlin, Python, Java, JavaScript and/or Typescript. You bring in experience in cloud-related areas like Kubernetes, AWS, containerization and IaC.

You have a profound understanding of cross-functional software development, agile methodologies, and a hands-on attitude.

You see digital product development as a collaborative effort, bring together product and technology and set up environments for the best outcome.

You share honest feedback in a constructive way and as well are comfortable in receiving feedback.
What you will do.

You will lead a cross-functional team of Software Engineers, acting as a people lead and enabler for your team, helping to develop, and maintain delivery plans, timescales, and track progress

You will be responsible for identifying hiring needs and be involved in the recruitment of new talents for your team, interviewing candidates and on-board new team members

You will coach and mentor your team members and support their career development, create a culture of technical excellence, innovation, learning and continuous improvement

Being a subject matter expert, you will drive the cross-functional engineering efforts in your team with a clear focus on delivery and improvement

In close collaboration with Product Management, UX and Design you continuously deliver new product increments

You will work with the Head of Engineering and other Engineering Managers to nurture the heycar Engineering Culture across teams
