The Klarna communications team is a driven, passionate, and fun group of people focused on making Klarna a global brand that is known, respected, and loved by consumers, retailers, and all relevant stakeholders across the globe.

We are now looking for a skilled communications professional who can combine creativity and business acumen to help build Klarna’s brand and company narrative in France. You will play a key role in building Klarna’s position through developing and implementing compelling communications strategies. 

You will work closely with the regional management and central teams to turn complex messaging into simple communication so that local audiences find it easy to understand Klarna’s value proposition. You will be part of the Klarna expansion team, working closely with other teams such as marketing, commercial and product, as well as agency partners.

You Will:

  • Develop and implement external communication strategies, bringing Klarna’s story to life creatively in France, with a focus on consumer lifestyle media. 
  • Day-to-day media relations and engagement, consumer campaigns and press office management.
  • Proactively pitch creative news angles and identify opportunities to drive a constant drumbeat of positive Klarna news and commentary.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media, particularly in the consumer lifestyle space.
  • Coordinate with global comms colleagues on group messaging and initiatives where necessary to ensure alignment and maximise opportunities to tell local stories.
  • You will need to be able to move between multiple audiences and contexts in a deft manner.
  • Coordinate with various internal teams to support and drive announcements, campaigns, partnerships, programme updates, and more.
  • Manage local PR agencies, constantly driving performance to ensure the best ROI for Klarna.
  • Evaluate and report results at both a local and global level, sharing best practice and insights to constantly improve.
  • Attract, coach, and develop others, understanding team dynamics and strengthening the overall capability of the organization. 

Who you are:

  • You are passionate about your job and perform well in a fast-paced working environment.
  • You have a consumer centric mindset, are proactive, can move between high strategy and small details, relish problem-solving, have the ability to think creatively and love the satisfaction of a brilliant execution. 
  • Minimum 4 years experience as a PR professional preferably in a high-growth and/or retail/Ecommerce or agency environment.
  • Experience working for a business operating in an evolving regulatory environment is a plus. 
  • You love to challenge the status quo, can quickly adapt to change and have the ability to prioritise your work. 
  • You are proactive and hands-on and come up with new thinking and solutions that add value and innovation to the work we do.
  • It is crucial that you can take initiative, be strategic and forward-looking while at the same time taking personal ownership for everyday delivery.  
  • You have strong writing skills and an eye for what makes a great news story.
  • Proven skill and passion in proactively building relationships with media, and in successfully generating top tier favourable media coverage.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and working with external partners.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute on multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally.
  • Fluent in French and English.
