Accounting Manager - Accounting Operations

As an Accounting Manager you play a very important role for Klarna. You set the direction and drive consistent deliveryby enabling the team to have a complete focus on operational excellence and solving problems for our internal/ external customers.  You are responsible for team performance, deliveries and maintaining solid processes which is key for the success of Klarna. As a leader you are also accountable for the conditions and environment your team operates in. 

High-level responsibilities

  • Coordinate what the team does, make sure the team is aligned, works well together, and delivers accurately and consistently
  • Ensure operational excellence. Challenge and drive the team to deliver both with speed and quality. Identify blockages and prioritise actions
  • Actively manage risks within the team’s problem space and plan & prepare to overcome incidents
  • Know why and how we do things at Klarna and can answer questions on the way we work and what we want to achieve
  • Ensure awareness of the regulatory framework connected to the team’s problem space and act in accordance with both internal and external regulations
  • End-to-end responsible for team results (the quality & delivery of your product/service) including cooperation and coordination with all teams and stakeholders needed
  • Ensure speed, flow, team motivation and efficiency by adhering to Klarna’s team practices
  • Coach and provide regular feedback to the team and team members

Team scope:

  • Make supplier payments smoooth with high service delivery & automated processes
  • Manage processes and controls for almost the entire costs base of the Klarna Group including accounts payable, expense reports, pre-paid expenses & salary payments
  • Responsible for routine general ledger entries, such as standing accruals and fixed asset register Provide a touch point to all corners of the organisation concerning payments and cost allocation
  • Implement financial operating processes for new markets and entities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration
  • 6+ years of experience in a major company or division of a large corporation.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google suite.
  • Applicable work experience in a high-pace environment and willingness to have a diverse set of tasks and responsibilities
  • Excellent track record of assessing, developing and implementing internal controls
  • Proven experience building, developing, mentoring and inspiring a high performing professional finance team
