Support Lawyer/ Junior Legal Counsel

If you’re passionate about taking yourself, sennder, and the logistics industry to the next level, curious, and driven by solving puzzles and influencing how we reach our business goals, then you might be who we’re looking for. What others may consider uncertainty, you see as an opportunity to learn and be proactive, while being a team player and understanding how your personal development intersects with the company’s growth.

The Legal department, located in the Berlin HQ and the Amsterdam office, is an integral part at sennder and responsible for all matters relating to M&A/Corporate matters, funding and finance matters, data protection, IP/IT law, commercial and transportation law as well regulatory/compliance requirements. The role of a Professional Support Lawyer/Junior Legal Counsel will have the opportunity to gain exposure across this spectrum of legal and business matters and will share responsibilities with a Dutch counterpart located at the Amsterdam office.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Prepare and manage team meetings, the internal project pipeline, as well as administer contract and general documents management support. You will work closely with all members of the legal team in Amsterdam and Berlin, directly reporting to the General Counsel. You will engage with a broad number of interdisciplinary teams across all sennder entities.
  • Provide high-level legal research about legal requirements across all legal sectors of the Legal team and support the draft, review, and negotiation of commercial and HR contracts;
  • You will have the opportunity to have a substantial impact beyond a mere support function. You will help to prepare the (legal) path for new projects and initiatives within the sennder organization, with direct exposure to sennder's strategy and key stakeholders.
  • With careful mentoring from the Legal team, you will have the unique opportunity to grow your role from a legal support function to a fully-functional legal counsel position within a short timeframe.

PREFERRED YOU HAVE

  • Successfully obtained a German Law Degree 1 (1st State Exam or Wirtschaftsrecht) from a German university.
  • Business fluent in English and German (any other EU language proficiency would be a big plus).
  • Ideally, you have already gained initial experience (1-3+ years) as a professional support lawyer or paralegal in an international law firm or in-house.
  • The ability to pass on information to internal and external stakeholders efficiently and in a pragmatic and concise manner.
  • Work experience with high-growth, VC-backed start-up/scale-up companies and/or in the logistics industry is not mandatory but would be a big plus. In any case, you have a solid interest in disruptive business models as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with substantial international exposure.
  • Strong analytical skills that allow you to quickly grasp and present legal issues in different areas of law.
  • Experience in setting up excellent self-organization and enjoy working independently and proactively.
  • Excitement, a high level of commitment, and a "hands-on" mentality.
  •

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • A fast-growing company, transitioning from startup to scale-up, where your work will make an impact on our growth and lead to several career opportunities.
  • A market-competitive compensation package in line with your qualifications.
  • An international team of 900+ people with 65+ nationalities spread across 7 country offices with English as our company language.

  • Learning and development opportunities on the job and through conversations with your manager.
  • Various opportunities to connect with colleagues, formally and informally, digitally or in person (when allowed), through regular team events, company get-togethers, and partnership events with other companies and local organizers.
