About The Job

NewStore is looking for a Solution Engineer to join our Field Service Team. You will be involved from the project discovery throughout execution of the project involving both solution partners and clients. As our ideal candidate you will have a strong background as a developer and an interest in interfacing with clients and advising project engineering teams of our solution partners. You will work closely with internal teams, including product management and engineering. 

You will be working in a versatile, dynamic work environment and help to build stable and scalable software based on NewStore that fulfils the business needs of our clients.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients and the internal delivery team to understand and verify business requirements and architect complex solutions leveraging NewStore Cloud platform and AWS capabilities, existing eCommerce, POS, Order Management, Fulfillment, and ERP systems
  • Recommend solutions with an eye to future scalability, performance, maintenance and usage
  • Implement, test, debug and continuously improve software solutions running in cloud environments
  • Educate and guide decisions made by solution partners and customer technical team, as well as lead by example or implement mission critical functionality where necessary
  • Achieve customer objectives within time and scope, without sacrificing architectural integrity

This position reports to the Director, Professional Services, and may work remote from a home office anywhere in the United States.

 

Qualification

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related field and 2 years of experience as a software engineer/developer; In lieu will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related field and 4 years of experience as a software engineer/developer.

Experience, which may have been gained concurrently, must include 2 years of experience in the following areas:

  • Developing and implementing on both client- and server-side: Web Service (RESTful), asynchronous data integrations, web scripting languages and web technologies, mobile applications, Javascript (node.js or React native);
  • Agile methodology, use case refinement and estimation, using tools like Jira, Confluence; and
  • Test Automation and Test Automation Frameworks.

Qualified candidates must also have professional experience with one of the following:

  • Backend development and integration technology including programming in Python, Golang and Javascript (node.js) using Amazon Lambda Functions and AWS Services; or
  • Frontend development on iOS & Android including Javascript 6, React Web / React native, Redux, HTML5 and CSS3.

Qualified candidates for consideration will be expected to have:

  • Strong analytical, empirical troubleshooting and debugging skills; and
  • Ability to advise engineers in technical questions and best practices regarding our product.

This position requires travel nationally up to 25% of the time to client sites.
