About the opportunity

Contentful is looking for a Senior Web Content Editor to own content strategy, management and development on and take it to the next level. The successful candidate will apply their digital content expertise to delivering the right content to the right audience at the right time in their journey, from discovering Contentful to using and purchasing our industry leading headless content platform.

Working closely with key collaborators on the Web, Content, Communications, Campaigns and Product Marketing teams, you will manage content strategy and execution for all web projects, from initial scoping to publishing to post-launch optimization and governance, and own day-to-day content management and optimization. Using data and your insights, you will help to create world-class experiences that solve user needs, align with Contentful’s brand values and guidelines, and support our business goals.

The ideal candidate blends expertise in content, digital marketing, UX and SEO to create content experiences that engage and convert efficiently. You'll partner closely with our UX and visual designers to create digital experiences that drive positive outcomes, with a goal to making every word count in the right context—from hero lines to product descriptions to CTA button copy and page metadata.

What to expect?

  • As the Senior Web Content Editor expert with exceptional writing and editing chops, UX sensibilities, and a proven ability to work cross-functionally, your role will include but not be limited to:
  • Developing content strategies that target the right audience with the right content to satisfy user needs and drive deeper engagement with Contentful
  • Discovering customer and business requirements by conducting research, including web analytics, user testing, competitive analysis and stakeholder interviews
  • Partnering with UX designers and engineers to design content components that are scalable across multiple use cases and optimized for search and personalization
  • Collaborating with content creators from other teams to map the user journey, curate assets, and align copy with strategy
  • Work with internal teams and our external digital agency to improve content discoverability through search optimization, navigation, personalization, automation and other strategies

What you need to be successful?

  • 5+ years of experience working in digital content strategy, preferably for enterprise B2B technology websites
  • Experience working in collaborative teams and integrating user-centric design principles and research into the content strategy process
  • Working knowledge of best practices for content-related site architecture and optimization, including IA, SEO, and personalization
  • Working knowledge of web analytics and reporting tools
  • Experience with content governance, content management, and content automation
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Proven ability to build stakeholder relationships and manage expectations
  • An inspiring portfolio of web content projects that showcases a compelling writing approach, strong editorial skills, and impact.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in English, marketing, journalism or related field
