About the Role

This is an amazing opportunity to positively impact the production environment of a high-growth, high-potential B2B e-commerce startup focused on the life sciences market. In this role, you will be responsible for defining ZAGENO’s Site Reliability Engineering environment and taking it to the next level for risk reduction, scaling, efficiency, use of automation, and quality. The successful individual will have a proven ability to collaborate with business leaders in building and running sustainable production systems, which can evolve and adapt to changes in a global business environment.  This person will inherit established processes, find opportunities for improvement and drive updates via process, tools, and automation changes to remove toil across the organization and environment.

In this role you will:
  • Build, document, and deploy software, systems, and automation to manage and run the B2B eCommerce SaaS environment (dev/test/QA/production) platform infrastructure and workload applications, taking a holistic view of system health, meeting current SLA’s, providing on-call support as necessary.
  • Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing the ZAGENO platform capabilities forward, getting ahead of product feature roadmap needs, and innovating to continually improve.
  • Developing automation and deployment of infrastructure as code tools along with scripts necessary for the configuration, deployment, and operation of the ZAGENO platform environment.
  • Provide primary operational and engineering support for a distributed microservices / container-based B2B SaaS platform environment.
  • Managing, planning, and negotiating maintenance, upgrade and release activities
  • Producing deployment, configuration, implementation documentation.
  • Ensuring that maintenance, upgrade and releases operate as per platform SLA’s.

About You

  • A computer science degree or a similar discipline 
  • AWS / GCP certifications and 6-8 years of experience using SRE tools and automation in a cloud production environment, running 24x7x365.
  • Experience with Enterprise Docker/Kubernetes container orchestration solutions.
  • Excellent programming skills and experience, using Python, Java, C/C++, Ruby, and JavaScript, JSON.
  • Demonstrable software infrastructure & configuration management experience using technologies such as: DataDog/Splunk, PagerDuty, JIRA, Git repositories, Red Hat Ansible/AWX, Terraform (Cloud or CLI), Jenkins, Spinnaker. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Structured thinking.
  • Experience in coordinating cross-functional work teams up to task completion.
