Senior QA Engineer - Merchant Sign-up & Onboarding

The Activation Squad plays a central role in the merchants’ onboarding journey and that’s why we aim to make first impressions lastingly pleasant by building a key component of our proprietary payments platform. Our squad strives to provide a seamless sign-up experience, to engage customers in early usage and to help them build love for SumUp products.

As an experienced QA Engineer, you will join the team to help us build the new onboarding component, by ensuring the quality of one of the most vital parts of our payments platform.

What you’ll do

  • You will take part in feature discussions and have the opportunity to improve our customers' experience
  • You will participate in handling issues, including investigation, communication and delivery of fixes
  • You will promote the quality guidelines set by the QA chapter within your squad and ensure these guidelines are adequate for your squad’s specific needs
  • You will have an active role in laying the foundations of the test framework in the squad 

You’ll be great for this position if

  • You have fundamental understanding about web applications & REST/microservices
  • You are eager to learn and develop new skills
  • You are self-driven, focused and like to share knowledge
  • You believe automation is an important ingredient of QA and are strongly motivated to gain experience in it (if lacking)
  • You are fluent in English - you'll be part of a truly global company

Any of the following would be considered a plus

  • Good command of any high-level language such as Java/RubyJS/PHP/Python//C#
  • Experience in test automation 
  • CI and/or DevOps skills will be considered a great advantage
  • Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker
  • Experience with Kafka or another message broker
  • Experience in a similar business domain
