About the Role

This is an amazing opportunity to positively impact a high-growth, high-potential B2B e-commerce startup focused on the life sciences market. In this role, you will be responsible for defining ZAGENO’s Project Management culture and processes, and taking engineering and IT project delivery to the next level for quality, budget, on-time delivery, and scale.  The established project management process must seamlessly blend with the established Agile development process used by the engineering and product teams.

The successful individual will have a proven ability to collaborate with business leaders to establish an easily adaptable, pragmatic project management process.  The resultant project management process will be lightweight to allow efficient adoption across the organization and flexible enough to evolve and adapt to changes in a global business environment.  This person will continuously find opportunities for improvement in Engineering and IT project management while ensuring best practices are established and followed.

In this role you will:
  • Work with ZAGENO leadership, build, document, and deploy a lightweight project management process to ensure on-time, in budget and properly scoped delivery of engineering and IT project work in service of ZAGENO business needs, aligning to overall Agile best practices and framework
  • Take incoming work requests/business needs and translate them into successfully delivered engineering and IT projects aligned to engineering sprints
  • Provide hands-on project management for engineering and IT projects, including requirements gathering, solution scoping, project budget and resource forecasting, providing regular updates to leaders and triage of projects gone awry.
  • Provide training and leadership of Project Management best practices across the ZAGENO organization

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 2+ years working as a Scrum Master on software development projects 
  • Demonstrated history of successful project delivery in an agile environment
  • Formal Scrum and/or Agile Project Management training
  • Deep experience with various project planning and tracking tools such as Azure DevOps, Trello, JIRA  
  • Strong planning skills – schedules, resource allocation, issue management, tracking, etc.
  • Able to multitask
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills as well as highly effective communication skills
  • Strong desire to help improve processes and mentor others
  • Situational leadership
  • Experience in coordinating cross-functional work teams up to task completion
