Who we are:

Our Berlin-based accounting team is a diverse bunch with a great mix of international and local experience. We look after all the internal and external reporting needs of the DACH subsidiaries of the Klarna Group, working in both English, as the official working language of Klarna, and German, to establish a close relationship with local external authorities as well as our service providers. We have recently also become the accounting business partners for Klarna’s entities in Spain, Italy, Belgium and Netherlands, with more entities planned which could soon come our way, so we are thriving in a constantly changing and dynamic environment, and can provide lots of opportunities for personal growth and development!

We are currently looking for either a full-time Financial Accountant or a Senior Financial Accountant to join us in our exciting journey, so please keep reading on to see if this might be you!


As part of our team, you are likely to have the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to / own internal and external financial reporting streams on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis
  • Reconcile G/L systems to the underlying sources and develop methods and tools to provide analytical insight
  • Take responsibility for accounting and reporting of relevant business transactions
  • Take part in / lead various projects and initiatives (e.g. acquisitions and integrations, process automations, control improvements, detailed balance sheet investigations and analysis)
  • Develop as a professional in an entrepreneurial organization that provides opportunity to work with your areas of interest

You should have:

  • University degree in either economics, finance, accounting, tax
  • For Accountant level: 2+ years of combined accounting and finance experience. For Senior Accountant level: 5+ years of combined accounting and finance experience
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a team
  • Strong conceptual & problem solving ability, and strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to have a diverse set of tasks and responsibilities
  • Working proficiency and communication skills in English at minimum, and basic or higher skills in German

You might also have:

  • Additional qualification such as  WP, StB, CPA, CA or ACCA
  • Experience with statutory reporting in German GAAP or IFRS environment
  • Knowledge in German regulatory or tax reporting
  • Knowledge of the fintech, banks or payment services industry
  • Track record of process improvements 
  • Hands-on experience in an enterprise level Accounting software (we use SAP S4)  
  • Previous exposure to supervising and coaching junior team members if you'd like to be considered for more senior levels
