About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Applied Scientist. You will work closely with our sales team to provide technical product knowledge and support during to sales process, focusing on growing revenue and developing new businesses.

You will be a trusted scientific advisor for both internal and external stakeholders. You will own all technical aspects of the pre-sales process and deliver key solutions to our clients. These include leading product demonstrations and presentations, providing technical input into customer proposals, and translating the needs of our customers into tailor-made solutions.
The right candidate will come with in-depth knowledge of engineering and life sciences, a passion for sales, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely. In this role you will:
  • Responsible for demonstrations of our search functionality utilizing knowledge of scientific content to portray ZAGENO’s expertise in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry
  • Proactively scopes the technical solution required to address customer requirements, assesses customers’ met and unmet needs, and recommends solutions that optimize value for both the customer and ZAGENO
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to existing and prospective customers
  • Coordinate closely with internal sales, sales support, and service resources to align solution design with customers’ business requirements
  • Contribute to developing efficient strategies to address opportunities for business growth
  • Help in researching and developing new or improving existing features of our product
  • Have the ability to articulate technology and our value proposition to both internal and external stakeholders

About You

  • You have earned a doctorate in a scientific field of study
  • Ability to deliver succinct and powerful customer-focused presentations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Technology savvy, result-oriented, and a problem solver

  • Customer-centric and motivated by providing an excellent customer experience

  • Ability to develop high levels of credibility and professional relationships with customers, peers, and higher management

  • Good understanding of current procurement processes of laboratory supplies and where there is room for improvement

  • Proven Sales experience of laboratory consumables or instrumentation in Life Science is a plus
  • Experience and knowledge of enterprise scientific software solutions is a plus

  • Familiarity with commercial operations in complex sales cycles is a plus
