US Product Strategy & Operations Group serves as the synapse between Product and merchant-facing teams to ensure Klarna is building & launching the right products for the US market with proper fit, speed & quality. We do this by leading early product discovery, consulting on product development, implementing go-to-market launch strategy and driving operational efficiency. Our group sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Legal, Analytics, Partner Success, Marketing and the many other functions at Klarna to deliver a common goal: create the smoothest shopping experience for users. 

As a Product Strategy & Operations manager, you will partner with senior leadership and stakeholders across various Klarna functions to shape product strategy, refine the user experience and develop & execute operational plans in order to support the development, launch and growth of Klarna’s products. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated excellence and influence in strategic business decisions, a strong understanding of building amazing products and the ability to execute with efficiency in highly ambiguous environments. 

This person will sit on the US Growth Products team, which focuses on ideating, pitching & engaging deeply in new product development, and driving go-to-market initiatives both internal and external. As a Manager on this team, you will be responsible for proactively identifying opportunities & gaps in the US market, leading strategic projects & product builds and providing thought leadership for both internal stakeholders and external partners.

Location
We are for an individual to work from one of the following Klarna offices in the U.S.: New York City, Los Angeles, or San Francisco.

As part of the Product Strategy and Operations team you will

  • Build like a PM. Lead new strategic initiatives & product development, often acting as the sole product manager in bespoke or early stage product concepts.
  • Drive product strategy. You will proactively identify market & product opportunities, build business cases to support & often scope new MVP concepts.
  • Create GtM strategy. You will define the core value propositions of new US growth products for our two sided marketplace, and produce supporting GtM content.
  • Operationalize products. You’ll lead all internal sales enablement including trainings & ad hoc support and external content including often directly engaging with partners.
  • Influence to drive alignment. Drive roadmap alignment among cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering and Partner Success that will contribute to growth & scale. You must be proficient at influencing others.
  • Have an appetite for technical discussions. Develop deep understanding of product and market in order to steer prioritization, development and positioning.

Who you are:

  • You have 5+ years of experience. You’ve succeeded in high-performing cultures - (whether in tech, product management, management consulting, banking, product operations, growth strategy or operations).

  • You excel at and enjoy end-to-end implementation. From building product strategy to business case modeling to working with cross-functional teams including engineers to execute.
  • You are a superior communicator - both written and verbally. You can communicate (verbal & written) with extreme clarity and conciseness and can dynamically adjust communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Inefficiencies bother you. You habitually seek out inefficiencies and it excites you to resolve them. You're excited to solve problems in innovative ways.
  • Details are the end game for you. Highly detail-oriented with strong empathy for end-users whether customers or internal stakeholders.

You might also have

  • Experience in investment banking, private equity and/or management consulting
  • Experience in high-growth tech, fintech or payments
  • Experience scaling products including designing and executing growth strategies
  • Experience making high fidelity UI/UX design and/or experience leading a product designer 
  • Very strong analytical skills including data modeling and analysis
