Klarna is looking for a strong marketer with consumer, payments and/or retail marketing experience to help our retailers in the Irish market and message Klarna to the mutual benefit of both parties. Successful candidates will possess the ability to combine creativity and business acumen in order to elevate Klarna’s brand equity across all relevant channels in partnership with our biggest clients. The role requires a deep understanding of the Klarna brand, our services and our shoppers in order to develop the right marketing messages and campaigns to accelerate Klarna use at the retail checkout. The successful candidate will work closely with other Klarna co-marketing and commercial team members globally.

What you will do

  • Work directly with Klarna integrated merchants to develop relationships, gain a deep understanding of their challenges and build comprehensive marketing plans to drive our mutual growth.
  • Manage the planning and implementation of campaigns. This includes 3rd party media, sales promotions, and consumer-facing placements across the full shopper journey from engagement to driving traffic, to acquisition and conversion - in all sales channels.
  • Execute and report on all activity internally and to retail clients.
  • Work directly with, and manage, creative and media agencies (internal and external) on specific activity.  
  • Work closely with commercial sales and account management colleagues on pitching to prospects.
  • Contribute to and use best-practices and tools to drive the marketing effectiveness agenda.
  • Educate commercial team members to be able to engage merchant partners on our marketing capabilities.  
  • Coordinate internal teams across countries to execute marketing plans, utilizing our internal support capabilities and where needed, hacking a solution to get things done. 
  • Advise merchants on how to best use and message Klarna in their own channels to amplify sales

Who you are

  • You will have a minimum of 6-8 years of experience in broad-based marketing roles either at a client or agency.
  • A candidate who has managed marketing in retail or for a retailer is desirable, as is experience in a tech or e-commerce environment.
  • You have exceptional creative, problem-solving and strategic thinking ability
  • You have strong digital marketing experience - a performance and social expert and are data and insight driven in your decision making
  • You have the persuading and influencing, and the leadership skills to lead the marketing agenda and prioritise within your team from day one. 
  • Must be team-oriented and highly resourceful - ‘Can do’ and ‘Willing to do what it takes’ attitude
  • You are ruthless in delivering results on time and with the highest standards
  • Have the gravitas to manage relationships with senior stakeholders at merchant partners
