Learning & Development Specialist OPS

As an L&D Specialist in Operations, you’ll work within the Learning & Development OPS team, which is responsible for providing learning solutions to all SumUp employees within Operations.  The Learning & Development team has multiple focus areas, the main ones being; providing new joiner training on a monthly basis to in-house new hires, supplying all training materials to our BPO partner, creating new product training solutions and keeping them up to date in an ever-changing environment, offering learning solutions with maximum business impact to existing employees, offering tailored training programs for various career paths within the business. 

The L&D Specialist is someone with great stakeholder management skills and who is able to quickly build strong and lasting relationships with their SMEs. They have a great understanding of Instructional Design, Adult Learning Principles and Blended Solutions and they have a fair amount of working experience turning all of their knowledge into high-quality storyboards and training modules. The L&D Specialist will be collaborating closely with more junior and senior team members in order to deliver end-to-end training solutions as a response to training requests coming from the business. In a fast paced environment, they know how to consult and come up with the best solutions for their stakeholders in the most suited timeframes. Furthermore, they are able to handle multiple projects and priorities and apply creative thinking to develop new solutions.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Consult and collaborate with stakeholders and SMEs in order to fully understand their training needs and suggest the most suitable training solutions
  • Ask the right questions that are needed to fully and critically discern stakeholder training requests
  • Analyze and determine the right and most sustainable training format to fit learner’s needs
  • Work closely with SMEs in order to gather all relevant documentation and information that are necessary to create precise and integral storyboards
  • Understand the business needs and be able to suggest rough time estimates for training delivery
  • Design and put together easy-to-understand storyboards, have them verified by SMEs for sign off and share them with team members for development
  • Aim to develop high-quality and effective training solutions, based on the well-established principles of adult learning and instructional design

You’ll be great for this role if:

  • You have experience designing easy-to-understand storyboards that can be developed by other team members 
  • You have good knowledge of the existing blended learning solutions, adult learning theories and instructional design principles and you take them into consideration in order to build sustainable learning solutions
  • You have a great track record of collaborating effectively with team members
  • You know and have proven experience on how to manage stakeholders and SMEs
  • You have some previous experience working in Operational Departments, not a must but a nice bonus
  • You have strong organizational and planning skills, high attention to quality, detail and accuracy and you are able to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines
