As Lead Data Scientist, you’ll take on the unique role of building a data science and analytics function within our tribe. The function will closely collaborate with experts in data science, engineering, product, design, content and operations to deliver internal and external features that power the SumUp ecosystem. By shipping code early and often, you'll see the impact of your work on our merchants’ daily lives right away.
What you’ll do
- Use predictive analytics and machine learning techniques to solve complex problems and drive business decisions.
- Apply statistical techniques like hypothesis testing to merchant big data to help inform product decisions and shape business strategy.
- Perform exploratory analysis to define new ways to capture product usage data and identify trends and opportunities.
- Explore and evaluate new data sources and data tools as well as help to build an automated data collection and cleaning process.
- Lead and coach a team of analysts and data scientists to drive insights and decisions at a tribe and organisational level.
You’ll be great for this role if
- You have 6+ years industry experience in a data science environment, creating business impact through machine learning products and analytics.
- You have extensive experience with Python and SQL as well as the ability to write clean and tested code.
- You have sound theoretical knowledge of machine learning.
- You have the ability to work with loosely defined problems that result in a positive impact on user experience.
- You have the ability to learn, improve and think outside the box to creatively solve problems.
- Have great communication and storytelling skills.
