Junior Backend Engineer (Full-Time)

Your Mission

Backend engineers are architecting, implementing and testing the suite of services that provide the backbone to the wysker app and the tools used by our content creators. With a focus on stability, scalability and security, backend engineers have to think about the what as much as about the how.

Your profile

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the product team to identify requirements and to break down application features into their supporting backend services
  • Design internal and external APIs and the software architecture to support them
  • Write production-quality code in ES2015/Node.js and/or Scala using the Express or Play frameworks respectively
  • Write unit- and integration tests and comprehensive API documentation
  • Conduct performance and load tests
  • Going forward, work with a team of junior backend engineers and build the necessary patterns and practices to guarantee its success
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript, preferably ES2015+ or TypeScript
  • Experience writing backend code
  • Familiarity with server-side frameworks like Express or Play
  • Strong computer science fundamentals
  • Good understanding of SQL and relational databases
  • Demonstrated experience in building large scale scalable systems
