Intern in Geo Data Engineering

About us

TerraLoupe is a German startup to empower autonomous mobility. We use machine learning technology to automaticcally detect objects from aerial imagery to create a 3D digital twin of the world. Located in the heart of Munich the next level of geo platform and HD mapping is getting to reality.

Your tasks

You will be responsible for ingesting, optimizing and automating how we handle big geodata in our platform. As a member of our team, you will be designing smart workflows for efficiently running data-intensive applications on top of our data platform.

  • Further automate our machine learning processes, e.g. i/o, label generation, training, evaluation
  • Continually improve the creation, wrangling, handling and storage of all big geodata for our platform
  • Creative problem solving, e.g. handling massive vector and raster files, smart workflow management, efficient resource usage
  • Identifying and incorporating new applicable technologies when needed

Requirements

  • Studies in the field of geoinformatics or similar
  • Experienced in building functional software, with python
  • Experienced in developing workflows, e.g. snakemake, nextflow
  • Eager to scale with any cloud computing platform (i.e. both horizontally and vertically)
  • Motivation to handle big unstructured geodata and modularize conceptual problems
  • Not afraid of complex raster and vector processing
  • Available for 6 months or longer as an intern
