Objective of the Role
 
At ResearchGate your work will help over 20 million scientists and researchers solve global challenges and connect them with companies that help them to work more productively. Whether studying the first moments of our universe, developing innovative cancer treatments, or tackling global warming, our users are making a real difference.
 
Reporting directly to the Director of People & Workplace, and leading a small team, this role is about both strategic leadership and operational excellence. You will be the employee advocate on the People & Workplace leadership team and be recognized in the organization as the employee-focused people leader whilst knowing how and when to operationally execute into an organization where eNPS is a key measure of our success. 
 
Every day, you will make an impact for 20+ million scientists around the world, who themselves have an impact on 8 billion peoples’ lives via their research.

What You Will Be Doing

  • You will lead all of our People Programmes and employee experience initiatives in conjunction with our HR Business Partner team. 
  • You will drive company-wide equitable employee engagement and employee and workplace experience.
  • You will act as an ambassador for ResearchGate’s Core Values, Employee Engagement, Digital First, and our strategic lens of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Belonging.
  • You will lead the design and implementation of the DEIAB strategy that is integrated into every aspect of our employee experience programs and culture, fostering a diverse employee population and culture that reflects the diverse populations it serves.
  • You will inspire an organization-wide culture of learning, growth, and belonging across an expanding organization.
  • You will lead all our workplace experience efforts including our mobile work strategy and the health and safety of all our employees.
  • You will enable quick onboarding programs to new hires that drive connectivity and cohesion within our company culture.
  • You will create and inspire the way we host internal events to support our distributed teams.

About You

  • You will have 10+ years of professional work experience in HR / People and Culture 
  • You will be a strong & motivational leader with the ability to both lead people directly and indirectly.
  • You will thrive in an environment where you can lead on organization-wide initiatives.
  • You have excellent relationship-building skills with a demonstrated ability to work well with people with a wide diversity of demographic and professional experience levels across a decentralized work environment.
  • You have a growth mentality and an ability to adapt and lead in a rapidly-changing environment.
  • You have superior communication skills, excellent verbal capacity, and strong writing skills.
  • You speak fluent English and a reasonable handle on German (particularly written German).
  • You have the ability to prioritize multiple, large-scale initiatives simultaneously.
