Team Description
 
As a Global Compensation Specialist, you will have a critical role within SumUp’s Total Rewards team. You’ll be accountable for managing all aspects of cash compensation such as base pay and incentives within the organization. This role will partner closely with business leaders, managers, and People Partners to translate business strategy into meaningful cash compensation strategies that meet the organization’s needs and support us in attracting, motivating and retaining  talent.

What you’ll do
  • You will be the expert for all compensation related topics  for  business positions in SumUp;
  • As an advisor  to People partners, managers and the finance team, you will be responsible for educating SumUp’s teams in compensation topics and supporting them in creating   offers for approval, annual forecasting  and performance linked compensation processes
  • Demonstrate  Founder's Mentality value, as you drive compensation management by balancing  cost and market realities while designing competitive programs and . 
  • Gather and manage accurate and insightful market data through your knowledge, relationship with external compensation vendors, relationship with Talent Acquisition and networking;
  • Design salary ranges, guidelines, incentives and other tools while working closely to benefits, mobility and equity teams to build a total rewards framework that is compliant to local laws and supports business strategy for engineering, product and design talent;
  • Support in expanding our talent pool by designing compensation solutions that enables SumUp to hire and retain talent regardless of location
  • Stay on top of our rewards management and execute periodic in depth analysis on our internal and external equity along with effectiveness of existing programs and practices.
 You’ll be great for this position if
  • You have at least 5+ years of work experience in a Compensation role(even better if you have experience with regional / global compensation management roles) 
  • Proficient with MS Office Excel/Google Sheets and have experience of working with large HRIS systems
  • Deep knowledge on salary survey methodologies (Hay, Mercer, WTW, others)
  • You know how to engage relevant stakeholders and are  hands on in your approach
  • You have excellent analytical skills and enjoy working with data
  • You’re fluent in English, with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • You have a high degree of professional ethics and integrity
  • You’re organised, , pragmatic, solution-oriented and able to prioritise and execute projects in an ever-changing environment
  • You’re self-driven, detail-oriented and adept at time management with excellent problem solving skills
  • You’re able to analyse situations and information quickly, and confident escalating issues when appropriate
  • You are comfortable working with a global team in a fast paced environment
