The Platform tribe’s mission is to enable the delivery of valuable experiences to our merchants. We do this by providing tools, systems, and APIs that allow SumUppers to efficiently innovate, build and run our products and services at scale.
As a Frontend Engineer in the Web App Experience Squad, you'll work in a small and highly collaborative team, where most opportunities are related to our merchant-facing dashboard, providing an intuitive, accessible and relevant web experience that helps merchants save time, manage tasks, and grow their business by knowing what to do next. Daily, you can expect to work close to the engineering, product, design, and operations teams, aiming to make developers’ life easier and support the product strategy of the company.
What you’ll do
- Take ownership of the dashboard navigation, home screen and web experience
- Make web architectural decisions along with the team and the web community at SumUp
- Facilitate/lead discussions on the evolution of our web platforms
- Collaborate with product engineering teams by assisting them with integrations into our dashboard platform

Collaborate with engineering teams to further shape our open source libraries such as Circuit UI, our design system, and Collector, our tracking library
- Collaborate with product and design teammates to improve merchant-facing solutions with design, research, business, and tech considerations.
- Mentor your fellow engineers
- Participate in team rituals
You’ll be great for this role if
- You care about web accessibility, performance, and progressive enhancement
- You have great communication skills, encourage knowledge sharing, and drive technical discussions within the team
- You care to deliver a great experience and are passionate to iterate to make it better
- You have experience with JavaScript, React, and Node.js
- You know how to set up test automation for the software you write
- You have worked with serverless functions and application architecture
It would be a plus if
- You have experience with TypeScript, Next.js and CSS-in-JS
- You have experience working with design systems
- You have experience working with micro frontends. For example, you have worked on migrating a monolithic application to micro frontends
- You have experience working with Kubernetes. For example, you know the difference between pods and containers and can modify an application’s deployment
