FP&A Senior Associate

As an FP&A Senior Associate, you’ll join the FP&A team that sits within the broader Finance team – helping the CFO, Sumup’s leadership and board gain financial visibility and insights on the business. 

The team manage long-range strategic planning, lead the rolling quarterly forecast process, drive performance reporting and analysis and are a thought partner to our business leaders by cultivating data-driven decision making.

 

What you’ll do

  • Be directly involved in the various planning and forecasting cycles (annual planning, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlooks)
  • Act as the Finance point person, interfacing with a cross-functional team within the tribe while providing strategic analyses and recommendations support decision making 
  • Implement processes to prioritise resource decisions and track investments and initiatives necessary to exceed future stage targets
  • Deliver timely and accurate reporting as required: month-end actual vs. budget commentaries, summary, business reviews, board meetings, etc.
  • Review and provide commentary on flash/ month-end numbers, explaining variances to budget/ forecast whilst also documenting risks and opportunities to future numbers
  • Manage the Tribe P&L and cashflow in partnership with Tribe Leadership, ensuring that the Tribe leaders are aware of financial targets and implications of decision making
  • Partner with the corporate FP&A to strive for process and system enhancements
  • Аnticipate business requirements, trends and variances; develop action plans; measure and analyse results; initiate corrective actions; minimise the impact of negative variances; manage to company goals

 

You’ll be great for this role if

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree (BA) or Master in Finance, Accounting or a relevant subject.
  • You’re fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • You have 3-5 years of increasing financial responsibility in a similar position.
  • You have exceptional relationship-building skills demonstrated by the ability to grow and nurture relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • You have excellent financial and commercial acumen and are able to understand and articulate complex financial information in a concise manner.
  • You have excellent presentation, communication and stakeholder management skills – including experience managing senior stakeholders.
  • You’re experienced in interpretation, evaluation and complex contractual financial terms construction.
  • You thrive in ambiguity and be able to formulate hypotheses at times with incomplete data sets.
  • You live and breathe the culture of “one team” that operates across Global FP&A.
  • You’re an experienced user of SAP ERP and MS Office. 
  • You have strong Excel and system skills (including the ability to build complex models).
