What will you do
As the Founding Cloud Engineer (m/f/d), you’ll work closely with the CTO to build up Software Engineering and shape a scalable architecture that enables rapid feature development. You will be involved in the entire development lifecycle from concept to implementation, using React, TypeScript, and Python. You will work with an international and cross-functional team of world-class software engineers, product managers, and designers. In addition, your contribution includes:
Shape our early-stage product, architecture, toolchain, and development practices.
Develop our cloud-native backend based on continuous customer feedback, data analysis, and product requirements.
Design and implement APIs, automate your serverless infrastructure setup, and build scalable event-driven systems
Continuously monitor the serverless infrastructure and tune it for scalability and cost-efficiency.
Keep the technical debt low with test automation and writing well-structured and clean code.
Hire engineers and support them in their growth.
Learn new things every day and share your knowledge with the team and the outside world.
What we are looking for
You are highly proficient in building scalable backend systems with Python in a serverless cloud environment, preferably on AWS. Additional experience with TypeScript is a plus.
You are comfortable managing infrastructure as code, preferably with CDK or Terraform.
You work collaboratively with your colleagues and consider what is best for the team. You have exceptional communication skills and can work effectively in a distributed team and a remote-first environment. You value diversity and inclusion.
You think creatively, are solution-oriented, adaptable to change, and strive to learn continuously.
You lead with empathy, feel joy in supporting your fellow team members, and have an outstanding judgment in finding talented engineers that match our culture.

You have profound experience in designing scalable event-driven architectures, preferably on AWS.

We are a remote-first company. You can either work out of our headquarters in Berlin or remotely. Choose the setup that works best for you. Remote locations should be within +/- 1 hour of CET time. We regularly get together at co-location weeks to strengthen our culture across geographies.
