Who we are
Klarna’s mission is to free people from all the meaningless time spent managing money and purchases, so they can do more of what they love. Every day at Klarna we help consumers, merchants, and partners to explore just how smoooth the modern purchase experience can be. Our position at the crossroads of payments, consumer financing, ecommerce and banking means we are uniquely positioned to do this. There is no label for what we do.
Klarna was born in Stockholm in 2005 and today has 2500 employees working across Europe and the US. We currently serve 60 million consumers, work together with 130,000 merchants and process more than a million payment transactions a day. We are growing at 40% year on year and our investors include Visa, Atomico, Sequoia Capital, Permira and Bestseller group/ Anders Holsch Povlsen. We have strong partnerships with some of the world’s leading brands, such as ASOS, IKEA, Adidas, Zara, Lufthansa and Spotify.
As Executive Assistant to the Klarna US Leadership Team, you will play a key role in bringing focus and order to the chaos that is standard in a startup environment. You will be responsible for anticipating, prioritizing, and organizing all activities with regard to the Klarna US Lead and other senior leaders’ calendar, travel, and general work life. Also you will be helping out with administrative tasks within the commercial domain, coordinating and administering around all different projects on the table.
A normal EA job description would tell you the basics: managing day to day activities, coordinating calendar and travel, planning and scheduling events, maintaining budgets, and completing expense reports. To be clear, you’ll do that….but not just that. We want you to thrive and make a difference. We want you to understand our complex and rapidly changing organization, then add business value by bringing your voice to the table, asking hard questions, and giving insights where others may have missed something. You’ll anticipate needs, solve problems, and help us build and deliver amazing products and solutions.
Where others see trees, you see an entire forest.
The Executive Assistant can sometimes be a fairly thankless job, but you don’t care - you’re too busy getting stuff done. You thrive off of pressure and get satisfaction from knowing everything is operating like a well-oiled machine. You’re awesome, and you know it - basically making Donna from Suits look like an amateur (Google it if you don’t watch Suits).
Probably the most adaptable person in the company you’re at now, you need more challenges to fuel the fire. You’re reliable, accountable, resourceful, work best independently but are a natural leader and collaborator. You don’t forget anything. You remember everything. You have a passion for your work, the people you support, and are always looking to do things more efficiently. You sort out complex tasks with ease; even if you don’t know something, you always know who can fix it. You’re everyone’s confidant who knows when to listen and knows when to solve.
