About the Role

ZAGENO is looking for an experienced Director of Business Development to join our team!

While our international team is located in both Cambridge, MA, and Berlin, Germany, this role will be based in Cambridge, MA, and reports into our Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and is responsible for driving commercial growth focused on selling to large pharmaceutical companies. You will collaborate closely with the CEO and CRO to navigate complex relationships and organizational structures with top biopharma prospects and clients.
Your responsibilities:
  • Building and executing a strategy for outreach and navigation of new large pharma accounts
  • Successfully communicating and positioning ZAGENO to key stakeholders
  • Work cross-functionally with product and engineering leadership to ensure proper sales and product alignment
  • Work closely with customer success to ensure successful pilots and roll-outs to new accounts based on aligning incentives during the sales process for successful adoption
  • Collaborate with department heads to help inform commercial strategy and roadmap
Please note that this role may require up to 50% travel, and is preferably located in Boston, MA.

About You

  • A background in digital transformation initiatives in R&D and technology implementation and adoption in the life sciences vertical
  • 8+ years in the life sciences industry with an informed understanding of startups and technology organizations
  • Strong understanding of the R&D procurement process within life sciences
  • Ability to lead initiatives and work autonomously
  • Take a data-driven approach to inform decisions and strategy
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills and attention to detail
  • Adaptable mindset in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Strong storytelling skills to distill valuable information into information that resonates with the right audiences
  • MBA is preferred but not required
