Senior CRM Strategist for Engagement

As a Senior CRM Strategist, you’ll analyse the life cycle of our merchants and help a cross-functional team build an engagement strategy that is focused on increasing merchant activity and decreasing churn. 

This role sits within our Marketing team. We’re a diverse group working in the fields of product marketing, online marketing, brand, CRM, content, PR and social media. Together, we devise innovative strategies to grow SumUp’s brand, attract new customers and keep existing merchants excited about our products. Our Berlin-based team consists of 40+ people from 24 different countries. If you’re excited about empowering small business owners around the world, we’d love to hear from you.


What you’ll do 

  • Oversee and understand the journeys and behaviour of our customers to leverage engagement with our processes and products
  • Design the CRM engagement strategy and coordinate implementation across markets. 
  • Ensure the base is segmented effectively for behavioural-triggered educational and promotional communications
  • Run A/B tests to understand which communications and offers have a better impact
  • Create data-driven user journeys, campaigns and NBA logic 
  • Create reports, analyse and drive specific recommendations for action
  • Communicate processes and learnings across teams and document them on our Confluence page
  • Work closely with Data & BI, Content, Design, Marketing, Operations and Salesforce teams.


You’ll be great for this role if

  • You have 5+ years of experience working in CRM. 
  • You have strategic expertise in developing contact strategies to increase base activity and decrease churn.
  • You have a strong understanding of channels and communication approaches (email, in-app, push, SMS).
  • You are comfortable with CRM metrics and understand when it’s relevant to run A/B tests.
  • You’re passionate about CRM and growth and stay up to date on industry best practices.
  • You excel at project management, from conceptualisation to driving alignment, planning resources, managing deadlines and objectives and delivering data-driven recommendations.
  • You're fluent in English and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • You have good knowledge with ESP tools. Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a plus.
