Who you are: 

We are looking for an Analytics Manager to join our rapidly expanding US Credit Innovation & Underwriting teams. You have extensive experience designing credit policy on consumer lending products, executing resilient credit growth initiatives, and identifying ways to split risk using non-traditional data sources. You are passionate about identifying, solving, and scoping out solutions to complex business problems using both data and judgment. You thrive with the responsibility of owning projects end-to-end and working cross-functionally with other business groups to bring solutions to market. Although you may not have managed analysts in your past roles, you enjoy mentoring junior teammates and sharing with them your best-practice analytical frameworks. You enjoy working in the fast pace of a high-growth, innovative, fintech. You are enthusiastic about challenging the status quo to deliver best-in-class experiences and products for customers.

What you will do: 

As a member of the US Credit Innovation & Underwriting teams, you will be responsible for catapulting Klarna’s Pay-in-Four (Pi4) and Financing products to the cutting edge of risk decision making. You will collaborate closely with Modeling, Product, and Commercial teams across Stockholm, Berlin, and New York to cement Klarna as the US’s favorite way to shop and pay. US Credit Innovation & Underwriting is a US-based team whose success is defined as meeting growth and profitability goals across US products.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the risk performance of Klarna’s US products, making efficient credit policy decisions to steer the product towards growth goals within the established risk appetite
  • Run a world-class lending program through implementation of credit best practices, including controls, monitoring, and testing protocols 
  • Collaborate with Commercial and Product teams to create products that solve the needs of Merchant Partners to get their items into the hands of consumers
  • Collaborate with Data Science teams to generate best-in-class risk detection models
  • Research, test, and implement alternative data solutions to increase coverage of “credit invisible” populations and improve customer affordability assessments 
  • Design line assignment testing strategy to optimize spending limit framework for consumer spend and risk
  • Reimagine credit policy architecture to optimize stakeholder transparency and speed of response to emerging credit trends
  • Generate synergies for Klarna’s global product offering through collaboration with credit teams from other Klarna markets

What we look for:

  • Prior Experience: 5-10 years of background from consulting, investment banking, fintech/payments company, retail e-commerce or other high growth organization with operational experience in a quantitative or analytical role

  • Problem Solving Skills: The ability to identify and isolate trends and connect them to customer behavioral patterns and business impacts 
  • Data Analytics Skills: Proficiency in pulling data and performing analysis in SQL, Python, or R.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate actionable data-driven insights to audiences of all levels. 
  • Project Management Skills: Ability to define destination state, assess current state, and deliver a plan to close the gap. Experience defining key milestones/KPIs and managing stakeholder relationships, including through demos and communications
