Who we’re looking for 
Our brand new team called Copy & Translation is looking for a production oriented German copywriter. You’ll play an important role in taking Klarna to the next level and should desire going above and beyond to produce world-class copy. The position is based in Berlin, Germany.

What you will do
Write copy. A lot. So you need to enjoy writing in every sense of the word. As the main copywriter lead for your language, you’ll develop and dictate how Klarna should speak and write in this language. The majority of your work will be to localize an already established English master copy and make the necessary adjustments to make it fly. Seeing the big picture and the ability to understand how this text will work in a broader context is therefore crucial. There will be many projects going on at the same time, together with your team and on your own, so you need to have the ability to prioritize work yourself as well as time management. You’ll have a lot of interaction and tonality walk-through sessions with other teams within Klarna as “educating others” is part of your work as well.

Who you are
You have experience from developing copy tonality—preferably at a B2C agency or in-house—where you’ve also created strong, consistent brand communication. You’re a great collaborator and enjoys working alongside other copywriters, designers, product marketeers, marketing managers, PR specialists etcetera. You’re used to working brief-based with many different stakeholders and you enjoy that aspect of your work. And, since you’ll be working in an in-house team that operates partly as an agency, you always put the customer first.

  • Create best practices and be able to resonate and explain your thinking
  • Fully own your problem space across all touchpoints
  • Create glossaries and style guides and educate the organization on changes


  • At least 5 years experience from agency side/in-house team writing copy 
  • German as a mother tongue
  • Serviceminded
  • Comfortable presenting and leading meetings with stakeholders and colleagues
  • Proven ability to demonstrate brand tonality/voice
  • Comfortable working independently with little direction under tight deadlines
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a diligent eye for detail, language, flow, and grammar
  • A positive, go-getter attitude
  • Passion for storytelling and helping build a growing brand.
