Do you want to be part of an international, growing Compliance team, working for one of Europe’s largest FinTech/disruptor-banks, that wants to revolutionise the financial industry?

Klarna is looking for a Compliance Manager based in New Zealand to join the Asia Pacific Compliance team.

You will be part of the Compliance Team, so it is important that you have the ability to prioritize and be comfortable with working independently, but also collaborating with others in the team and stakeholders across the business.

You should have integrity, be ambitious, proactive and action oriented, and be an excellent communicator with a demonstrated ability of reporting writing for both internal and external stakeholders.

Day to day will see you:

  • Fulfilling the roles and responsibilities of AML/CFT Officer for Klarna NZ Limited.
  • Preparing, implementing, and maintaining compliance plans
  • Performing risk analysis to manage regulatory changes which may impact the Klarna business model, its products and services, or its customers; and driving appropriate business responses to regulatory changes.
  • Conducting periodic reviews on compliance-related business controls and providing remediation or process improvement recommendations to the internal stakeholders.
  • Providing reporting to risk owners, management and various risk forums on the state of business compliance with regulatory obligations.
  • Contributing to compliance-related policies, instructions and routines for the guidance of Klarna business units.
  • Providing advice, support and training to Klarna’s employees, contractors and other persons involved in its activities regarding business conduct and regulatory obligations, (including AML/CTF).
  • Submission of suspicious activity reports to regulators or law enforcement where required.
  • Act as a liaison between Klarna and local regulators, law enforcement and any other relevant authorities with regard to Money Laundering/Terrorist Financing.
  • Supporting the Group Compliance Team, including administration and communication with regulators (e.g. registering regulatory engagement, and preparing regulatory notifications and reports) and coordination (e.g. obtaining responses to regulatory requests for information).
  • Contributing to development projects for new products and services.
  • Identifying and mitigating other regulatory risks to Klarna.

You'll have

  • General working experience (minimum five years) within the New Zealand financial services sector; regulatory compliance experience is a requirement; and most importantly – you should be passionate about compliance and risk.
  • Working experience in the following areas is essential, Consumer credit, Payment services and systems, Financial crime risk including anti-money laundering / counter terrorism financing (AML/CTF), sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption (ABC) and fraud

Candidates who have experience in the following areas will also be viewed favourably:

  • FinTech or banking.
  • Consumer credit, financing and lending.
  • Consumer protection and privacy, and operational risk.
