Business Operations Assistant Underwriter

This role is a high-level customer service driven role. To be successful, you must be a self-motivated individual who has excellent planning and organisational skills. You need to be an excellent communicator with working to tight deadlines in an efficient manner.

You will work alongside and support the commercial and personal underwriting teams and ensure the new merchant acquisitions taken on by Klarna are within the set parameters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing of customer proposals and submitting them to underwriting in line with company policies and procedures
  • Supporting Klarna underwriters in their roles by acquiring or requesting the necessary information for them to make a decision
  • Liaising with Sales and Internal staff regarding the outcome / decisions of a proposal that has been underwritten
  • Operation of our proposal system with clear notes and rational that is to our company standard
  • General office administration office duties
  • Dealing with customer requests and general queries
  • To identify possible fraudulent accounts and take the correct action to resolve issues quickly, informing management of potential losses and action taken.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and teams to improve processes

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Previous experience in a customer focused environment
  • Demonstrable experience of working within a structured process
  • Basic IT Skills (MS Word, Excel and Outlook/Gmail)
  • An accurate and organised way of working, and ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Basic Knowledge of regulations relating to Compliance, Data Protection, Anti Money Laundering, Consumer Credit Directive and Consumer Credit Act
  • Previous experience in a collections or underwriting position
  • Experience with CallCredit, Companies House data navigation
