Who you are: We are looking for an experienced and passionate Brand Partnerships Marketing Manager to join our rapidly expanding North America B2C marketing team -- a high-performing, consumer-obsessed group responsible for making Klarna a world-famous brand that is known, respected, and loved by consumers and retailers. The person who will be successful in this role should have extensive knowledge and strong experience in delivering complex, multi-faceted brand partnerships that have impacted and contributed to building world-class brands and putting the consumer at the heart of the work. Additionally, a successful marketer at Klarna should have hands-on experience in working cross-functionally, have a great eye for creative story-telling, be high on talent, be low on ego, genuinely want to make a change while obsessing over our consumers, and also have a passion for pop-culture and trends. You also love problem-solving, want the ability to think creatively, and strive to challenge the status quo, while executing with the highest quality.

What you will do: The Brand Partnerships Marketing Manager will be responsible for building and executing our world-class brand partnerships and activations across key passion points (ie: Sports, Entertainment, etc.), guiding the Klarna brand across marketing touchpoints. Core to this role is driving the development, planning, day-to-day management, and execution of high-priority brand partnerships. The ability to combine creativity and business acumen to elevate Klarna’s brand equity with our consumers is a requirement. The work you do will solve a scoped problem-space with defined KPIs, and you will continuously seek improvements in performance and quality. You will regularly collaborate with internal stakeholders such as media, PR, influencer/content leads, and external agencies to develop and execute marketing plans.

Paired with the ability to quickly adapt to change, prioritize work effectively, and take personal ownership of hands-on delivery. You will be expected to be creatively driven and have a pulse on culture and consumer behavior. 

Responsibilities

  • Drive the ideation, development, planning, day-to-day management, and execution of high-priority Klarna brand partnerships across key passion points (i.e., Sports, Entertainment, etc.) for the largest and most prioritized Region.
  • Own all aspects of brand partnerships, including but not limited to project budget management, agency management, go-to-market plan development and execution, cross-departmental collaboration, creative direction, operations, and communications.
  • Lead project planning and delivery of complex, multi-faceted, long-term partnerships while organizing and collaborating with internal resources and external agencies.
  • Set a best-in-class standard for how Klarna approaches and executes long-term brand partnerships. 
  • Own the plans and the outcome.
  • Partner with internal teams and external agencies to determine the time and people necessary to see projects through to completion.
  • Build and maintain project plans and schedules to ensure successful delivery and lead performance and reporting. 
  • Manage external agency partners and internal teams.
  • Coordinate with external partners on day-to-day needs and deliverable management.
  • Obsess over our consumer by providing clear, thoughtful, and productive feedback during creative and program development.
  • Ability to multitask, work against deadlines and manage up to stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in marketing, communications, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in advertising or marketing, agency or brand-side. 4 of which should be experienced in sponsorships or relevant experience.
  • Strong experience working cross-functionally with multiple internal teams and stakeholders, and external agency partners to create concepts and campaigns.
  • Experience working with talent/influencers on and off platforms.
  • A proven track record in delivering stellar brand marketing and advertising campaigns from initial concept to execution.
  • Thrives in a highly collaborative environment, prioritizing and executing tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Knowledge and experience working across key marketing channels, including social media, content, activations, experiential, and paid media.
  • Ability to move fluidly between the 30,000-foot view -- operating at the strategic level and ideating -- and at the 3 foot -- driving tactics, execution, and delivering output.
