Brand Marketing Manager (DACH)

Klarna is looking for an experienced marketer with business acumen to position the Klarna brand successfully in paid media channels. The role requires developing a deep understanding of customers, regional market and media trends, and the competitive landscape in order to develop marketing strategies for both our brand as well as new and existing Klarna products. The successful candidate will work within the regional DACH B2C Marketing team and collaborate closely with a variety of global and regional stakeholders, such as other marketing teams, PR/comms as well as product marketing to accelerate business growth in the DACH region.

You will:

  • Lead and/or support the development, localization and tracking of global and regional brand campaigns and manage media plans and media execution of all paid media channels (offline and online). 
  • Make sure that the campaign roll out is in line with our regional marketing strategy and a key driver to achieve our regional business and marketing KPIs. 
  • Manage and be on top of our media budget, making sure we invest smartly and efficiently.
  • Create campaign reports and analyses that provide thought leadership and insights by leveraging multiple sources of data, tools, metrics and share the learnings with internal teams, senior management, as well as external partners.
  • Be the main point of contact for our media agencies and partners. 
  • Support developing the regional brand and marketing strategy together with other stakeholders within our region as well as the global team, based on strong consumer and regional insights.
  • Leverage current media trends, market research, and analytics to champion the consumer insights in the DACH market.
  • Work on regional sponsorships and partnerships that position the Klarna brand credibly. 
  • Start small and learn fast: In accordance with our leadership principles, you proactively spot current trends and business opportunities in which media activations can make a strong business impact for Klarna, pitching them to internal and external stakeholders and constantly iterate on learnings.

You are:

  • Fluent in both German and English
  • Experience of working within the DACH market
  • 5+ years of experience in brand or media marketing management, preferably in a high-growth and/or fintech/retail/e-commerce or media agency environment.
  • You have a proven track record of creating and executing impactful and innovative media strategies that meet business as well as marketing objectives and KPIs and can ensure we get the most bang for our buck.
  • You know how to define and deliver relevant business KPIs.
  • You have previous working experience in the DACH market, experience working on the Swiss market is a plus.
  • You are both performance and creative thinker: You are passionate about marketing and media trends and you know how to proactively pitch your ideas to other stakeholders.
  • You have outstanding media knowledge across all media.
  • You have a strong self-motivation and drive to get the jobs done in excellence. You have a perfect balance of working independently and collaborating with various internal & external stakeholders to push projects to success.
  • You are able to analyze and extract meaningful insights that help not only the regional but also the global team to create marketing strategies and concepts that appeal to the local audience.
  • You are analytical, detail-oriented, and have strong project management skills. You have experience in agency management as well as in-house creative teams (creative & media) for the development and execution of localized work.
