(Brand) Designers at Klarna are fundamental players in the strategy, conception and design of beautiful and meaningful ideas and products. Bringing exceptional creative thought and well-crafted execution, the designers shape innovative brand experiences and possess broad, up-to-date knowledge of the most innovative communication trends.

In the Klarna Merchant Creative Studio our focus is on B2B creative and co-marketing campaigns in which Klarna collaborates with other brands ranging from high-street to high fashion – as well as other types of consumer goods brands.
You will be focusing predominantly on the Fashion, Luxury and Beauty merchants as well as B2B.

What you will do

  • Create art direction and design for generic B2B assets.
  • Create visual co-marketing campaigns for different formats and platforms while maintaining brand consistency throughout all our marketing projects
  • Lead projects into original and unexpected creative solutions
  • Collaborate with PMs, designers and copywriters to challenge and create the most compelling and successful design and/or art direction possible
  • Create design and creative concepts for Klarna’s communication with merchants, as well as B2B2C for OOH, digital banners, on-site/in-store experiences, brand activations, content, video and events that are globally scalable
  • Take responsibility for the quality and execution of design and be creative throughout all phases of a project across a broad range of digital and sometimes physical touchpoints
  • Be a hands-on and strong conceptual creative. No creative task is too small or too big
  • Conceptualize innovative ideas and pitch them to stakeholders in an engaging and convincing manner
  • Oversee and be involved in creative production incl. on-set art direction with external partners
  • Work with different teams and partners in setting the right tonality in our different communication channels according to our design guidelines and brand DNA
  • Implement the look and feel of other brands alongside the Klarna brand in our co-marketing campaigns 
  • Facilitate feedback with a positive attitude from different teams while ensuring relevant feedback is captured, properly validated, and implemented
  • Manage, direct and review the work of junior designers

You should have

  • Vast experience creating art direction and design for aspirational brands who are creatively ambitious
  • A minimum of 5+ years of proven experience, both from the creative agency side as well as brand side. You are working with design for communication that demonstrates exceptional creativity, conceptual thinking and attention to detail
  • A portfolio that shows bold visual communication.
  • We are looking for someone with experience working within the realms of Lifestyle/Fashion/Beauty/Luxury
  • Exceptional design and layout skills, great eye for composition, colour and typography
  • Experience working with digital as well as print design
  • Extensive knowledge of photography, moving image and artists from photographers to stylists
  • A huge frame of reference, and you bring your ideas to life through perfectly executed moodboards and mockups
  • Experience working with photographers, directors, set-designers and stylists, to create emotional visual stories with clear purposes which you art direct on set
  • Experience working with a wealth of different brands in look and feel. It’s important you’re able to devise creative concepts and design for any type of brand that Klarna collaborates with, and do so with speed and quality
  • You keep a close watch on fashion/beauty/luxury brands in general and also visual trends, design trends, art, campaigns, social media, brand activations and pop culture ideation
  • Ideation experience and a 360 mindset. You are expected to bring a multitude of ideas to the table in a fast paced manner
  • Hands-on design skills. You’re self-sufficient and able to mockup and design your own concepts to a very high level
  • Experience directing more junior team members and agencies on design in both digital/UI or print to get the best possible results
  • Great ability to confidently own your own projects and take initiative to drive projects forward and steer them creatively
  • Articulation skills. You present concepts and solutions in an engaging manner to internal stakeholders, and you know how to sell a pitch
  • Ability to work quickly within a fast-paced environment and remain focused under pressure without compromising quality
  • Detail oriented. You think of every little detail in a set or design, from manicure to colour of the wall paper to font size
  • You love to get your hands dirty and translate high level strategy into well crafted execution
  • Expert knowledge in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Sketch and Google Slides
