Your opportunity.

We are in rapid growth mode in the US and are looking for a bright and enthusiastic social media manager to join our social team in the US. This role sits within the B2C Marketing discipline and will work very closely with the US Social Lead and other cross-functional teams to establish strategies -- inclusive of visual storytelling, social plans to support our campaigns, community building, paid social, and brand engagement.

Klarna is looking for an individual with a deep understanding of social media strategy, community management, organic content planning, paid creative best practice, and must have a pulse on current events and culture. The ability to combine creativity and business acumen in order to elevate Klarna’s brand equity across with our consumers and partners is also a requirement. Prior experience managing social media for a brand, whether agency or brand-side, is a must. The successful candidate will work closely with our agency and other team members across ideation, planning, execution, and reporting.

The right candidate enjoys a high pace environment, can quickly adapt to change and has the ability to prioritize your work effectively, while taking personal ownership of hands-on delivery. Strong verbal and written communication skills, and basic typing and computer skills are essential to this role.

This position reports into our Head of US Marketing and Social Lead. 

What You Will Do

  • Support the strategy, planning, and execution across Klarna social, including ongoing/daily brand posts, social campaigns, and consumer engagement
  • Able to own, develop, and present strategic social plans and frameworks with minimal oversight
  • This individual will be an expert on digital media marketing trends to build out social strategies, ideate with internal stakeholders, and lead social content distribution 
  • Provide paid social expertise, inclusive of creative, messaging and audiences
  • Experience with developing reports, identifying actionable insights, and establishing best practices 
  • Provide ad-hoc, biweekly, and monthly analysis on qualitative and quantitative performance and recommendations for organic content optimizations 
  • Stay current on new social media tools, best practices, competitive activity, and other social media leaders
  • Develop, document, and implement Paid Social media best practices within accounts
  • Ownership of monthly calendar development, content posting, and community engagement 
  • Build-out of our social content calendar for the brand, including developing content concepts from idea to execution
  • Manage and support our internal and external stakeholders across community management 
  • Strong organizational skills - effectively manages multiple projects simultaneously

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Min of 3+ of experience in social media marketing. 
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to spot trends on the fly and leverage insights to draw sound recommendations.
  • Ability to strategically assess new opportunities and make data driven decisions to inform our activity and plans. 
  • Be up to date on the landscape and how user behavior is shifting across social media. 
  • Proven skill and passion in building communities and engaging with consumers.
  • Most importantly, eager to learn, adaptable, and have a strong interest in social media.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility & ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and fluid environment, adapting, spotting issues early, and escalating.
  • Experience working with influencers and creators is a plus. 
  • Previous experience in the payments, tech, or retail space is a plus.
