As part of the Controlling team, you’ll play a key role in the financial reporting and accounting world of SumUp. Our team is based mainly in Sofia and consists of more than 30 people with a diverse and broad accounting and financial expertise. We’re looking for an Accounts Payable Accountant to help with day-to-day accounting activities.
What you’ll do?
- Assemble, review and verify vendor invoices
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues as needed
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
- Enter and upload invoices into the accounting system
- Set invoices up for payment and regular payment proposal preparation
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and processed accurately in a timely manner
- Produce reports and prepare regular analysis of accounts payable (e.g. vendor and advanced aging reports)
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
- Assist with month end closing
- Provide supporting documentation for audits
- Maintain confidentiality of organizational information
You’ll be great for this role if:
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- You have minimum 1-2 years accounts payable or general accounting experience, preferably in a multinational environment and proven knowledge of bookkeeping, accounts payable and accounting principles.
- You will have previous experience with SAP and strong knowledge in Excel will be considered an advantage.
- You have excellent spoken and written English skills. A second language is a plus (French, Italian, Spanish, etc.)
- You have high attention to detail and accuracy.
- You have strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and cross group collaboration skills.
- You are a strong team player able to interact with colleagues at all levels.
- You are target driven with the ability to remain focused on goals and maintain effective work despite challenges.
- You are able to meet deadlines and work under pressure in a high-paced multinational organization.
