Senior QA Engineer (Manual & Automation) - Merchant Sign-up & Onboarding

The Activation Squad plays a central role in the merchants’ onboarding journey and that’s why we aim to make first impressions lastingly pleasant by building a key component of our proprietary Payments platform. Our squad strives to provide a seamless sign-up experience, to engage customers in early usage and to help them build love for SumUp products.

As an experienced QA Engineer, you will join the team to help us build the new onboarding component, by ensuring the quality of one of the most vital parts of our payments platform. You will be encouraged to combine both manual and automation testing and will be responsible for leading the ideation and implementation of the squad’s test strategy and framework.

What you’ll do

• You will analyze the current state of the test framework and build a strategy for improvements 
• You will drive the test automation initiatives in your squad by taking a collaborative approach, sharing your knowledge and expertise, building awareness and common understanding of quality
• You will take part in feature discussions and have the opportunity to improve our customers' experience
• You will participate in handling issues reported from end customers, including investigation, communication and delivery of fixes
• You will promote the quality guidelines set by the QA chapter within the squad and ensure these guidelines are adequate for your squad’s specific needs

You’ll be great for this position if 

• You have good command of any high-level language such as Ruby/JS/Java/C#
• You have fundamental understanding about web applications & REST/microservices
• You have experience in building test automation at any level
• You have a university degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent experience in software development
• You are a self-driven, focused and communicative person
• You are fluent in English - you'll be part of a truly global company
• You are eager to learn and develop new skills
• Experience with CI and/or DevOps skills will be considered a great advantage
• Experience in FinTech will be considered a plus
