Your tasks

As our Senior Automation Engineer (m/f/d), you are the expert in PLC programming, and you support us with software architecture definition and its integration to high-level programming languages. You also share your profound knowledge in that you mentor and coach your colleagues from the Engineering Team.

  • You are responsible for the parameterization of motors, grippers, sensors and actuators via IO and IO-Link
  • You provide technical guidance in regards to software and hardware integration of components such as barcode scanners, cameras, etc.
  • You use your expertise to advise about the internal PLC architecture and its integration to object orientated high-level programming languages
  • You mentor and coach your colleagues on parametrization and PLC concepts

Requirements

  • You have successfully graduated Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Automation Engineering or similar, and have several years of professional experience in automation
  • You are an expert in Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 or similar PLC systems (e.g. Siemens)
  • You have a profound experience with parameterization of motors (servo and stepper) and grippers (electrical and/or electro-pneumatic with valves)
  • You are experienced with integration of different sensor types and actuators via I/O or IO-Link, and complex devices like barcode scanners or cameras in a PLC environment
  • You are familiar with designing a modular-based software architecture and integration in high-level programming languages
  • You can program with object-orientated programming languages, preferably with Java
  • You may have gathered experience in medical engineering (preferably IVD) or any similar regulated environment
  • You are a team player but do not mind working independently as well
  • You have very good English and German language skills, both spoken and written
