Project Engineer - Body Closures (w/m/x)

Your Tasks

  • Monitor and report status against core project deliverables for cost, weight, quality and timing
  • Ownership and management/administration of Body Closures sprint framework - including sprint planning & sprint reviews
  • Representative for the Body Closures team in Project Sion sprint framework: status reporting and task prioritisation
  • Drive & resolve open technical issues to robust closed status in coordination with Lead Engineers
  • Support engagement, nomination & onboarding process for engineering service providers & suppliers
  • Preparation of purchasing documentation including RFQs and purchase order requests
  • Manage prototype and production BoMs & coordination of updates with Lead Engineers
  • Support the design, prototype and production release process for systems, subsystems & components in coordination with Lead Engineers
  • Create, development & update of internal system timing plans & review/coordination of supplier timing plans
  • Coordination with crossfunctional teams to ensure legal & functional requirements are captured & integrated to the series Sion (e.g. NVH, styling quality, reliability, safety)

Our Requirements

  • Degree (BEng/BSc or MSc/MEng) in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Demonstrated relevant experience in automotive projects for an OEM or automotive supplier/engineering service provider
  • Technical experience and familiarity with closures, sealing and mechanisms
  • Good understanding of overall vehicle development process & requirements
  • Excellent project management, coordination and communication skills between internal & external partners
  • Proactive attitude, able to drive progress & issue resolution independently
  • Good ability to understand and interpret data and derive relevant actions
  • Good knowledge of part manufacturing processes (injection moulding, sheetmetal & extrusion production etc)
  • Experience with automotive processes and systems (BoM management, DFMEA, PPAP, APQP)
  • Highly proficient using Google Suite, MS Office products & PDM & ERP systems
  • Practical/workshop experience on prototypes or vehicle servicing/construction is an advantage
  • Enthusiastic about sustainability, passionate about the products we are developing
  • Fluent in English. Good knowledge of German is desirable
