Project Manager / Program Manager (m/f/d)

Your tasks & responsibilities

As our Project Manager, you will be part of a dynamic team, who is working with an innovative new technology with international appeal. Our Project Delivery team is key to Electrochaea’s success in delivering on both commercial and internal development projects. Along the road, you will need to build good relationships with customers, partners, contractors and internal colleagues - teamwork is key. You will report directly to our Head of Project Delivery, who will support you in your training and further development within the company. In addition, you can always draw on the experience of your colleagues.

  • Overall responsibility for the effective delivery of project work
  • Creation and development of project documentation packages
  • Contractor and vendor bid evaluation / selection
  • Principle interface with project partners, clients and contractors
  • Preparation and review of schedules, reports and equipment procurement
  • Evaluation of risk and economic analysis of scope and design changes
  • Project resource planning & scheduling
  • Cost optimization
  • Risk analysis and management
  • Organize and participate in Hazard and Operability (HazOp), Safety Integrity Level (SIL) and project health, safety and environment reviews
  • Ensuring efficient communication and coordination with all relevant stakeholders
  • Comprehensive budget, schedule and quality management and report according to defined specifications
  • The successful candidate will need to work virtually, across cultures and geographical boundaries within and outside of Europe


Your profile

  • Degree in Engineering (mechanical, chemical or a related discipline)
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a gas processing-related industry
  • Successfully completed technical studies with a focus on mechanical engineering, process engineering, plant engineering or a comparable qualification
  • Strong technical background in continuous process operations (refining, chemicals, gas, pipeline, or renewable fuels processing) incl. process plant support experience
  • Thorough understanding of the requirements and ability to produce all project documents incl., scope of work, reports, contracts purchase orders, etc 
  • Thorough knowledge of process engineering documents including, PFD, M&E balance, P&ID, specification and data sheets
  • Solid understanding of constructability and construction practices
  • Understanding of government-supported project work, including grants such as EUDP funding. Detailed knowledge of international engineering standards including ASME, DIN, PED and ATEX codes
  • Demonstration of performance in safety, health, and environmental management
  • Strong commercial skills, including understanding of scope, quality and cash flow and contract negotiation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and procedural skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and at least one other European language 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple audiences and different levels of the organization 
  • Ability to develop and work within a budget 
  • Ability to plan and develop project schedules using Microsoft Project
  • Teamwork – a track record of interacting creatively, collaboratively, and productively with other disciplines
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally
