About the Role

ZAGENO is looking for a Data Platform Technical Lead. As a Data Platform Architect, you will define and build innovative large-scale analytics solutions and have a direct impact on the design, architecture, and implementation of solutions that will be integral to business’s data science and business practice. 

The ideal candidate will have industry-leading programming skills and established knowledge of implementing, designing, deploying, and maintaining big data analytics platforms in a cloud environment.

In this role you will:
  • Provide thought leadership and technical direction for the data engineering team and marketplace  products
  • Work with the lead of the advanced analytics capability to develop technical strategies and mature the technical stack towards improving operational outcomes and usability, as well as, keeping current with new emerging technologies
  • Lead project teams through POC efforts related to new technologies or new use of existing technologies
  • Document and publish technical principles and standards, and mentor the data engineering team to incorporate them into their daily practices
  • Work closely with platform and application architects to align the data engineering team to the overall company SDLC standards, practices, and data access patterns
  • Work closely with data engineering, earth scientists, and project delivery teams to drive alignment with the design decisions made and ensure consistency of implementations with architecture principles and standards
  • Develop and enforce coding guidelines and best practices through mentoring and practical involvement in solution activities
  • Champion and present the technical vision to the executive team and business stakeholders
  • Manage Data Engineering scrum team using software development best practices

About You

  • 3 to 7 years of experience in or with the following: 
    • architecting, developing, releasing, and maintaining large-scale enterprise data platforms either on-premise or on the cloud
    • analyzing data with SQL and implementing large-scale Data Lakes
    • designing software for performance, reliability, and scalability
    • programming proficiency in a subset of Python, GoLang, Java, and Scala
    • architecting solutions on distributed processing frameworks such as Spark, Hadoop or Databricks
    • building solutions leveraging NoSQL and highly distributed databases such as Snowflake, HBase, and Cassandra
    • implementing cloud-based systems (AWS/Azure/GCP)
    • proficiency in configuring and deploying applications on Linux-based systems
    • experience in data flow and systems integration
    • operationalizing and integrating analytics models and solutions within products and applications
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and drive analytical solutions pragmatically to completion
  • Proven record of designing and developing systems with desired SLAs and data quality metrics
  • Experience with geospatial data, projections, multidimensional data structures is a big plus
  • Experience with Machine Learning & MLOPs is a big plus
