Creative Director - Brand Experience

Our global team of 90+ designers have deep expertise in User Experience Research, Product Design, Brand and Marketing Design. We are currently building additional capabilities in areas including industrial design, motion design, data visualisation, UX writing and design operations.

As Creative Director - Brand Experience you will lead a team of up to 6 designers. You’ll drive the brand experience across all product applications, sub-brands, internal and external communication, down to the tiniest brand component. Acting as Sumup’s brand design ambassador, you’ll ensure brand guidelines are implemented and executed on a component level as well as across all marketing and communication collateral. 

What you'll do

• With a hands-on mindset, you’ll lead and mentor a team of brand designers to develop and execute outstanding concepts and solutions 
• Drive innovation, maintain and evangelize the brand design guidelines to internal & external stakeholders
• Guide & create holistic design solutions within our co-branded and partnership environments as well as with our multiple sub-brands 
• Collaborate and foster strong relationships across multiple brand & product teams throughout the company (Product, Marketing, Global Design, Internal Comms & Employee Branding) to ensure a cohesive brand experience across each touchpoint 
• Acquire deep market & user insights on current behavioural and design trends, making these knowledge accessible for everyone in the company 

You’ll be great for this role if

• You have a BA or MA in Design, Communication Design, Marketing Design or related fields
• You have 8+ years of experience of working as a Brand Designer or a similar role
• You have 3+ years of experience leading, inspiring and mentoring an in-house design team 
• You’re familiar with modern design tools and services
• You have strong written and verbal English communication and presentation skills. Other languages are a plus
• You are able to share your portfolio with us that ideally showcases examples of digital brand designs, photography and product design

• Strong visual storytelling
• Ability to translate a brand identity into a diverse array of digital materials
